The MCUAAAR MMC holds successful workshops. These workshops cover basic to advanced applications of structural equation modeling and issues in causal modeling of nonrandomized designs. MMC workshops are aimed at providing less experienced investigators with opportunities to expand their knowledge and understanding of methodologie utilized in conducting research on racial/ethnic health disparities in elderly African Americans.
Upcoming Workshop:
Michigan Center for Urban African American Aging Research (MCUAAAR)
Sponsored by University of Michigan and Wayne State University

A final report on "Reporting on the Health Challenges of Black Seniors," a one-day program for journalists organized in cooperation with the Resource Centers for Minority Aging Research (RCMAR). The program, funded by RCMAR from a grant from the National Institute on Aging, was held in Detroit, Michigan on September 7, 2005. The program brought professors from the University of Michigan and Wayne State University together with journalists to discuss disparities in health and health care for black Americans.
